Scaled up HQ brings new efficiencies for ProCook

ProCook has announced it is due to move into a new 167,000 sq ft warehouse in Gloucester following a consistent growth in trade, addressing a need for the company to drive efficiencies by consolidating operations from its two existing premises under one roof.

The new building at St. Modwen Park Gloucester will provide the company – which floated on the London Stock Exchange in November 2021 and has recently been ranked among the UK’s Best Workplaces 2022 – with the space for product development, a photography studio, improved warehouse operations, and its head office function – housing the company’s 220 employees in one location.

Working closely with Benniman Construction Group, St. Modwen Logistics is developing a bespoke build to suit to ProCook’s specific requirements. As a result, the office space will comprise 18% of the building, rather than the standard 5-7%, and the unit will have tailored design elements including a ‘training hub’, which will sit at the front of the building and provide training space for warehouse employees.

ProCook is also committed to sustainability and has a dedicated green team, which drives the company towards its target of being net zero by 2030. The new warehouse supports ProCook’s sustainability targets and will deliver a BREEAM Excellent and EPC A rating through the inclusion of PV solar panels, rainwater harvesting, and EV charging points. Additionally, the inclusion of skylights will allow natural light into the warehouse, reducing energy usage.

Employee health and wellbeing has also been considered throughout the design of the warehouse and the wider park. ProCook employees will have access to outdoor exercise equipment, a running track, and outdoor eating spaces, as well as an indoor gym and a full canteen.

Polly Troughton, Managing Director at St. Modwen Logistics, said: “At St. Modwen we are committed to providing our customers with the space and support they need to succeed. ProCook has experienced rapid growth over the last 10 years and this warehouse will further support its commitment to growth, sustainability and employee wellbeing.”

“We look forward to watching ProCook continue to grow from strength to strength at St. Modwen Park Gloucester.”

Steve Sanders, COO at ProCook, commented: “Our move to a new, much larger premises reflects ProCook’s success story over the past few years and we’re excited to move in.”
