ProCook joins Life’s a Beach charity to clean up Weston-Super-Mare beach

UK kitchenware brand and certified B Corp, ProCook, joined charity Life’s a Beach to remove waste from Weston-Super-Mare's beach.

A total of 56 volunteers from ProCook’s Store Support Centre in Gloucestershire visited the beloved seaside town to clean up the beach of litter, finding everything from socks to a car mirror.

This is ProCook’s 21st time volunteering with the charity and they have collected a total 565kgs of litter from all activity over the years, including beach cleans, canal cleans and lunch time litter picks around their office.

Life’s a Beach charity was set up by ProCook’s Founder Daniel O’Neill. The charity works to eliminate single-use plastics from British beaches and waterways, educates young people about plastic pollution, and encourages the use of reusable alternatives. This year alone, the charity has hosted 15 clean ups with 1,070 volunteers and collected 252kgs of waste.

ProCook HR and ESG Director Sarah Wheatley said:

“It was a privilege to join our long term charity partner Life’s a Beach for a beach clean up. We’re pleased that so many colleagues volunteered their time and got stuck in, and we look forward to more clean ups in future.”

Life’s a Beach Charity Manager Sophie Chappell said:

“Clearing rubbish from our waterways is at the heart of our Life’s a Beach mission, and we’re proud to partner with businesses that share our commitment and spread this message. I’m incredibly grateful to ProCook for taking the time to remove waste from Weston-Super-Mare beach, preventing it from being washed out to sea.”
